Wellness is more than having a healthy body, it entails having a sound, clear and positive mind, the ability to manage emotions, and the ability to communicate effectively.
A wellness lifestyle is first an internal feeling of ease, goodness, vitality and health as we "be" and "move" in our lives. Secondly, it is comprised of the behavioral choices and actions we make that are associated with "healthy choices." These choices have a positive influence on our whole being, our mental, physical, emotional, spiritual and relational wellness.
The Common Challenge
While many people want a wellness lifestyle and often set that as a goal, achieve such a lifestyle can be challenging. We are the "leader in our own life," and have the power to set the intention to live a life of well-being. However, competing demands for our time can pull us away from the best of our intentions and goals. In our humanness we begin to drive away from ourselves and fall prey to old habits of thinking, behaving and patterns of living.
Recognizing this reality, Dr. Nixon pursued training in the field of holistic health & wellness and offers wellness services to clients, the community and business organizations, as to maximize efforts to achieve optimal health and wellness.
